The staggered stairway weaves through lush bush where woodland creatures hide.
Design features
— Staggered cascading steps

— Curved paved courtyard
A landscape project designed to nestle into Miramar’s steep hillsides.
Mike’s home had an expansive but steep and unruly back yard. Our challenge was to open up access using low-maintenance materials.
We tamed the looming bank by creating terracing and installing a pergola for enjoying the views over Wellington. We designed a curved courtyard using honed aggregate pavers and mirrored the curve in the central retaining wall. We connected the two spaces with bespoke offset floating platforms. Freshened up the property’s existing fences, steps and screens and polished it with hardy native planting throughout.
The result is a durable, wind resistant, low maintenance space that invites exploration.
“Your crew, from start to finish were absolutely brilliant! I have been super impressed with the whole experience. The professionalism and the quality of workmanship was frankly fantastic.”
— Mike, Miramar

Planting with New Zealand native flora
Native New Zealand plantlife is suited perfectly to Wellington’s wily weather conditions. Because of their adaptability to local environmental conditions, most New Zealand native plants are able to thrive in Wellington landscape design.

Keeping your lawn healthy
You’d think your lawn would be thriving with all this rain. While summer might sear patches into your lawn and cause your grass to brown, winter drowns everything in mud; the sort that’s easily shifted and deformed under even the slightest application of pressure.

Lessons from Japanese landscaping
The beauty of ornamental Japanese landscaping is that it can be achieved in the smallest of spaces. A small front yard or back yard can be transformed into an intimate natural escape.
