A landscape project designed to maximise views, sun and sophistication.

Kendra and Andrew came to Scapegoats seeking help with street appeal. They wanted a modern and contemporary feel that would complement their existing architecture. With a busy family, low maintenance landscaping was essential.

Scapegoats designed and implemented a complete landscaping makeover for this fabulous family home.

The existing bedroom balconies were extended with vitex and seamless glass balustrades.

The front yard was levelled, new paved paths installed, the entranceway refreshed, a lush lawn created, a service area for wheelibins, dressed panel privacy fencing, concrete driveway and a modern native planting plan.

The back yard was levelled and terraced. All new boundary fencing was installed. A spa pad and screen created. The entertaining space enlarged and upgraded to include a vitex deck, outdoor fireplace with bespoke flat stone hearth, huge lush lawns and concrete sleeper paths. The native coastal planting plan was continued through to all corners of the section.

The result was a landscape that ticked all the boxes, providing timeless sophistication for many moons to come.

Wisdom

Landscaping in Wellington can present unique challenges. We’ve spent years taming the terrain and know what to consider when designing your dream landscape.

  • Native flora kowhai

Planting with New Zealand native flora

Native New Zealand plantlife is suited perfectly to Wellington’s wily weather conditions. Because of their adaptability to local environmental conditions, most New Zealand native plants are able to thrive in Wellington landscape design.

  • Lawn

    Keeping your lawn healthy

You’d think your lawn would be thriving with all this rain. While summer might sear patches into your lawn and cause your grass to brown, winter drowns everything in mud; the sort that’s easily shifted and deformed under even the slightest application of pressure.

  • Japanese garden

    Lessons from Japanese landscaping

The beauty of ornamental Japanese landscaping is that it can be achieved in the smallest of spaces. A small front yard or back yard can be transformed into an intimate natural escape.
